After a Bachelor in Art History (University of Geneva) and a Master in Theories and Practices of Cinema (University of Lausanne), Maud Pollien directed Cinéma Spoutnik (Usine, Geneva) from 2011 to 2015 and got involved in various cultural projects.
Since 2017, she is involved as a PhD researcher within the SNSF project « From video art to new media: the case of the VideoArt Festival Locarno (1980-2001), based in Ecal and directed by François Bovier. The subject of her thesis addresses the renegotiation and transformation of the modes of exhibition and circulation of video through the study of the first projects supported by the organization Electronic Arts Intermix (1971-1975) and the case of the VideoArt Festival Locarno.
Diplômée en Histoire de l’art (Université de Genève) et Théories et pratiques du cinéma (Université de Lausanne), Maud Pollien a été co-programmatrice du Cinéma Spoutnik (Usine, Genève) de 2011 à 2015 avant de poursuivre son parcours dans le milieu culturel.
Elle est engagée depuis 2017 comme chercheuse doctorante dans le projet FNS « De l’art vidéo aux nouveaux médias : le cas du VideoArt Festival Locarno (1980-2001), dirigé depuis l’Ecal par François Bovier.
